Remember Me Ranch presents the 1st Annual Jams for Jackson!! The event will feature live music by Feed The Dogs and a special musical performance by Cierra Gunderson. A $10 donation at the door is suggested. Money will also be raised through raffle prizes, a 50/50 raffle drawing, and a bar donation from Kochanski’s.

In 2012, Remember Me Ranch rescued Jackson from MADACC in an abused and emaciated state. He had a week of learning about love and freedom before losing his battle to an Upper Respiratory Infection and severe case of Pneumonia. In what seems like horrific irony, he survived years of abuse of neglect; but this illness was just too much for him. On his eighth day out of shelter, we had to say goodbye to Jackson and allow his kind and gentle spirit to escape that broken down body. It is important to us that his message lives – that he lives on – so that we can continually help the animals of MADACC, as well as those across Milwaukee County and beyond. RIP Jackson, we miss you. ?

In Memory of Jackson, All Proceeds Go Toward the Care of Remember Me Ranch Dogs.

If the pictures make your heart sink, imagine meeting him in person. He came from Milwaukee Animal Control, who had him for only a couple days until we were able to take him in. As of where he came from originally, we really have no way of telling, but it wasn’t a very good situation judging by his poor starved body.

But enough with the sad stuff, he has a super happy demeanor despite what he has been through. His tail was wagging away when I picked him up. Lucky for Ethan he went straight to a foster home where his foster parent nursed him back to health with toys, treats, food and most importantly love, something Ethan hadn’t experienced yet in his life. Today, Ethan is strong, healthy and waiting for his forever home.

You would never guess why, he had a tiny bit of discharge coming from his eyes so he was labeled dog with eye infections. So we took him in and a few days later there was nothing wrong with his eyes, he was a perfectly healthy and happy little boy. Now he is in his foster home where he get all the attention he could dream of and gets to see his friends at doggy daycare. He is still waiting for his forever home.

The story of Percy “Perseverance” the Catahoula is a wonderful one of hope and inspiration. Percy was found behind a restaurant in eastern Michigan, starving, emaciated, and suffering from seizures. A wonderful woman named Mary took him into the vet and spent so much of her own money getting tests done and stabilzing him. She reached out to the rescue community, and Remember Me Ranch stepped in. The dog (later named as Percy) was suffering so badly from seizures that the vet recommended he be put to sleep. We made a decision to give him one more day…and guess what? He was better the next day! We were so excited for him, and so thankful that we had done it that we named him “Percy” for the perseverance to get through that one night. Percy came to Wisconsin with the help of his friend Mary and Doug, who drove more than six hours to get him to safety. The vet thinks that Percy may have Encephalitis (which is caused by ticks – frontline everyone!) and it’s now causing neurological issues and seizures. But good news! There’s a cure for this, and we can save him. Percy needed lots of hospitalization, stabilization and a spinal tap. Aside from this, Percy also needed Heartworm treatment. After all of that, he made it through and with an awesome attitude. Percy was adopted and went to a very loving home.

We rescued Sophie from Milwaukee and pulled her within the hour of her euthanasia time. She is the best doggie you could ever ask for: loving, sweet to humans, loves kiddos and is every dog’s best friend. She even likes cats!

She was in physical therapy while we determined the best course of action for her hip and leg issues. Many doctors were involved and finally decided that Sophie needed something called a FHO surgery, or a femoral head removal – basically they cut off the joint of her femur, and hope that the muscles in her hips will bind to the femur instead.

She had her surgery and everything went well. We were even more excited when a rehabilitation technician named Nikki came forward and wanted to foster Sophie. In her foster home she got spoiled and even got to go to work with Nikki and continue in her rehabilitation exercises. She is doing great and we couldn’t be happier for the little wiggle butt!

We came across little Annabelle on the euthanasia list from a high-kill shelter because of a non-contagious form of mange, along with her sister. Two innocent puppies with cute little faces like these, we had to save them, especially for an easily treatable thing like demodectic mange. Annabelle came to us and her sister went to another no-kill shelter. Annabelle came with a cough and it went from bad to worse all in a week. She stopped eating, drinking, moving around, standing up and had a really hard time breathing. We brought her to Portage Vet Clinic and they took her in to find out what was causing her symptoms. It turns out whatever bacterial infection Annabelle came here with, it had progressed into severe pneumonia. With the help of our many supporters we were able to raise enough money to pay for her vet bills. And because of the care she received from Dr. Cooper and his vet technicians she was saved. Her lungs may not fully recover 100%, but it’s much better than the alternative. Right now in her foster home she is showing significant signs of improvement each day and her foster parents want to adopt her. She has a healthy appetite, she can breathe easy, she gets up to hop around and she even plays with toys now. With a little TLC, support from our fans on Facebook and medical attention from the saints at Portage Vet Clinic we were able to save one more life.

Despite all of our efforts severe pneumonia has claimed the life of Annabelle. She passed away on 11/19/2012 unexpectedly. She was doing so well in her foster home, but she had a seizure and died in her foster daddy’s arms at their home. It happened so fast, there was no suffering and in the last 2 weeks of her life she knew what love felt like and was absolutely spoiled by the Kessenich family. She was buried at their home and now she can finally breathe easy. I’d like to thank everyone who supported her, donated to her, the Kessenichs for taking such good care of her and Portage Vet Clinic for trying their absolute best. We tried our very hardest to save her.
