marissaMarissa Saad – Helping Pitties in the City

Marissa grew up in Milwaukee, WI. She received a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from UW-Milwaukee in 2007. While in college, Marissa rescued her first dog, Bambi; and a year later, she rescued Tyson. Both dogs are pit bull mixes and inspired Marissa to get involved in animal rescue and animal welfare advocacy.

Marissa started volunteering with the Battle Against Dogfighting (“BAD”) program. BAD is a comprehensive city-wide program that unites the community against dogfighting through education, early intervention, and community outreach. Her work with BAD led to volunteering at Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Care and Control (“MADACC”). Marissa became part of the team that established MADACC’s foster/adoption program. As a liaison between adopters, foster families, local rescues, and MADACC, she learned about dog behavior and interaction, medical issues, veterinary care, and training/behavior modification. Marissa also cared for her own foster dogs gaining hands-on experience with special needs related to behavioral and health issues.

While volunteering at MADACC, Marissa started working with Remember Me Ranch and assisted them with rescuing pit bulls. She officially joined Remember Me Ranch in September 2012. Marissa is responsible for our affiliate program, Helping Pitties in the City, and fundraising events in the Milwaukee area. Marissa does an amazing job with our continued success at our Milwaukee Campus.

Becky is the “cat lady” in our rescue program and fosters a majority of our rescue kitties. Becky also processes all adoption applications and helps solicit donations for fundraiser events. Becky is a HUGE animal lover and we are very lucky to have Becky as a part of our team!
